School Calendar and Schedule

Spring is the time of growth, flowers, sunshine - and the STAR test. You read about public school testing in the newspapers and hear it on TV and radio. Our STAR testing is scheduled to take place April 23 - May 4, usually between 8:30 - 12:00. The test covers language arts and math in grades 2-4. In grade 5 the test covers language arts, math, and science. Please avoid any morning medical and/or dental appointments during this time. The most important factor for successful test-taking is the attitude of the students, parents, and school staff. If the child knows that taking the test and doing their best is considered really important by the adults in their lives, their effort becomes sharper and more focused. Testing signs will be posted on classroom doors in order to eliminate any classroom interruptions. If you have any quesitons about the STAR test or procedure, I will be glad to discuss it with you.
